Granting Guidelines

The Tuttleman Foundation generally provides grants to 501c3 organizations in the following areas:


Grant Range

The Tuttleman Foundation typically awards grants ranging from $1,000 to $250,000. In setting grant levels, consideration will be given to the organization’s budget size, the amount of funds needed to effectively meet program goals, and resources available at the foundation

Multi-year Grants

The foundation occasionally funds multi-year programs on a very select basis.

Funding is Available for:

  • General operations
  • Capital campaigns
  • Special projects
  • Research and advocacy
  • Pilot projects

Criteria

In reviewing proposals, priority will be given to programs and organizations that are a strong fit with the following criteria:

  • Solid track record of success in achieving goals
  • Strong leadership
  • Long-term plan demonstrating a clear mission, goals, and strategies
  • Financial stability
  • Organizational capacity to effectively manage the proposed effort
  • Concrete goals and measurable outcomes

Grant Submissions

Please submit a summary letter of your request, including the following:

  • A brief project description
  • A statement of need
  • The grant amount requested
  • A detailed budget for the proposed project
  • Organizational profile

If additional information is required, we will request a fully detailed grant proposal, to be followed by a site visit.
